Name/TitleFrost nails and equipment
About this objectThe outfit consists of a hessian bag, containing 34 frost nails, and a combined spanner / awl, at the flat end of which is a square hole for turning nails when inserting them into the shoe. The tap for threading the holes in the shoe has a 'T' handle and a gauge. There is also a wedge tapering to a point, with the other end flattened at right angles to the plane of the blade, with a round hole. This may not be an orthodox instrument, but was in the bag.
