About this objectAn aluminium lid with a vent on one side and a black, fin-shaped handle on the other. Lid is for a three pint kettle with a bakelite handle.
This lid is for a kettle with is an early example of a 'Swan Brand' electric kettle produced by Bulpitt and Sons Ltd of Birmingham. The company was founded by Thoms Bulpitt in 1868 and began producing electric kettles from the late 1930's.
