About this objectModel of a gypsy caravan with barrel shaped roof made of longitudinal wooden struts, decoratively carved, glued together and fixed to a horse-shaped frame at front and back. The back is infilled with a piece of plywood into which has been cut a rectangular shape to form window space for the back of the wagon. On the outside, overlaying this rectangle has been stuck 4 upright and 2 horizontal carved pieces of wood to form 3 windows. Beneath is fixed a hinged plate form or rack- consisting of three struts of wood joined together by 8 metal rods, folded up and retained by a brass chain when not in use. Front as infill of plywood with carved wooden door frame fitted and a half door with shelf on top. The half door has a carved border fixed to it. The central panel of the door contains a metal replica of a fish facing to near side. Either side of the doorway, at the height of the top of the half door are brass-edged semi-circular shelves. The top half of the doorway has hanging small link chains to form a screen. There is a small platform before the shafts start to assist entry to the caravan. The front wheels are articulated and slightly smaller in diameter than the rear wheels. The wheels have 'Iron' tyres. The rear ones have wooden brake blocks. The sides of the caravan hood have a rectangle cut into them on each side to form a window space and then treated as back window. The bottom of the sides between the floor and the hood are made up of decorated wood divided into 5 panels on each side with a central 'Boss'. The inside of the caravan is bare.
