About this objectA concave, circular pan which fits on top of a spring weighing scale (STMEA:1994-9a). This object is made of metal, cream and green in colour and was made by the company Salter.

These scales and pan were manufactured during the 1950's by Salter and Co of West Bromwich. The company was formed in 1760 and rapidly became leading suppliers of springs, scales and balances and weighing equipment.

This object is part of our permanent Domestic Life display - 'The 1950's Kitchen.
