About this objectMagnet electric toaster, standing on four plastic rounded feet. There are hinged flaps either side, both have two round plastic handles.
The daughter, who donated these items, thinks her mother used most of these objects during the 30's and the 40's.
This object was manufactured by the General Electric Company who produced toasters alongside a range of domestic electrical products. The design of this toaster originated in the 1930's although production of the model continued well into the 1950's. It was capable of toasting two slices of bread at once and had a hot plate above for keeping food warm.
