Summer Holiday Activities for Kids 2023

We’ve got loads of activities and events for kids happening every day this summer holiday at the Food Museum, located in the heart of Suffolk. From baking, to meeting our animals, to exploring our large rural site, there’s something for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Animal Feeding

Sundays, 3pm

Say hello to our animals, including horses, sheep, pigs, cows and more. Have a go at being a farmer and feeding the animals yourself!

Wood-Fired Pizza Workshops

Thursdays and Saturdays in the Summer Holidays, 11.30am – 1.30pm

Make your own delicious flatbread pizzas from scratch and see them being baked in our wood-fired pizza oven before tucking into them at lunch!

Meet our Horses
Daily, 11.00am

Get up close to our beautiful Suffolk Punch horses Zippo and Faith and learn about their importance to farming.

Footprints Theatre Company Summer Theatre School

Monday 14 – Saturday 19 August, 10.00am-3.00pm

Work with professional actors and directors to explore local heritage, the Museum’s collection and your own stories. Take part in a series of drama workshops and create a unique production to perform at the end of the week!

Have-a-go Farming

Daily, 11:30am

Try your hand at being a farmer and trying a range of farming practices and techniques, out and about on our large site.

Daily

Discover the Scouts’ link to food and farming as you search for their badges around our site – from gardener to dairyman! Visit the Scouts exhibition to find out more about the story of Scouts, food and farming.
