Have you heard about our upcoming exhibition, School Dinners? Our team has been busy preparing for its launch!

Since October 2024, we’ve been running our first Young Curators programme in partnership with @museumofthehome, @quadraminstitute, the School Meals Project, and @chefsinschools, with funding from @heritagefunduk. Designed to give 15-18-year-olds hands-on experience in museums, the participants have worked alongside professionals, academics, and food experts to research and shape this exhibition.

The final session of this year’s programme took place on Saturday, with participants helping to install sections of the exhibition. Afterwards, participants, parents, and staff came together at the museum to celebrate their work with food and drink. 🎉

Spring is fast approaching at the Food Museum! 🌿🌸 The snowdrops and daffodils are in full bloom, and our walled garden is shaking off its winter slumber.

We’ve got a busy few months ahead, from our Wedding Open Day to hands-on Easter baking workshops and a vibrant Spring Feast 🐇🥕🌷🍽️

Our @foodmuseumshop is also newly restocked with our own on-site made products, along with plenty of Easter treats to enjoy!

Last week, our Curating and Visibility Fellow, Anahita, hosted a Disability Cooking Workshop with an afternoon tea theme, featuring sandwich and scone making. Throughout the session, Lucia recorded conversations, which will be featured in a future exhibition exploring disability and food. Stay tuned! 🫖🍽️🍓

Last few spaces available on our Family Forest Sch

Last few spaces available on our Family Forest School tomorrow morning! Family Forest School is a more relaxed drop-in style session where adults are a part of the fun and take an active role in sessions. This is great for children with special education needs or who need more support, as well as an opportunity for children and carers to learn together!
