Flavour Week

Saturday 15-Sunday 23 February
Flavour is a feeling!
Come and experience the world of flavour…
Processing flavour is one of the most complex things we do, involving all our senses as well as learnt behaviour. This half term, we’ve been inspired by our leading ‘flavour magicians’ to create a series of experiments for you to try.
Our multi-sensory menu includes:
- Orange and beetroot jellies
- Who nose honey?
- Crackers with a sound seasoning
- Take the rough with the smooth biscuits
- Square plate/round plate – Rhubarb!
- Malted memory madeleines
Save’our Flavour
Our tasters are made using ingredients from Slow Food UK’s Ark of Taste – a list of the country’s most at-risk foods.
By preserving these foods, we keep alive not just the foods themselves but the experience of flavour and the emotional connection to our food identities – our flavour heritage.
Explore the catalogue of endangered foods and discover the fascinating flavours from the UK and around the world it’s protecting.
- Delve into the Slow Food Movement’s ‘Ark of Taste’
- Nominate traditional products to this international resource you want to save
- Takeaway recipes featuring some of these at-risk foods
