Embossing Workshop with artist Larry Jackaman
Embossing workshops on recycled aluminium with artist Larry Jackaman
You CAN make a difference – ‘make your mark’ and be part of the Food Museum’s Art Trail
Time: Workshop Sessions running from 10.30am – 3.30pm Date: 31st May 2022
Larry is an artist who works with recycled materials, she has collected over 200 drink cans from our museum’s recycling bins and prepared them into individual leaves for you to emboss your impressions of nature upon. She will be at the Farm Barn all day to demonstrate embossing techniques and to help you make your own mark. Your embossed leaves will be collectively displayed to produce a shimmering sculpture as part of our River Art Trail. This Sculpture is designed to reflect the wealth of nature found at our museum, to raise awareness of food packaging consumption, the need to recycle and will demonstrate how long drink cans take to degrade.
What will be your impression of nature? An insect, animal, flower, plant, tree, fish, bird, fruit, vegetables ? Come along and make your mark to help recycle our drink cans in to artwork.
Workshop is free with museum admission/membership but please book spaces in advance
